  Paulding Elementary Principal Message Minimize

 Welcome to Paulding Elementary!

I am excited to be here and meet all the wonderful people of Paulding, Ohio.  I have learned what a caring community this is and have been greeted with a variety of learning experiences that have made me better already.

I have high expectations for the students of Paulding Elementary.  We all learn differently but we all learn better together!  Many students have shown me their talents through work displayed in the halls as well as times I have had the opportunity to work with them.  The potential of each student is limitless.

The staff has been working on professional development in the area of Differentiated Instruction this year.  We have just begun and are learning daily that we have much to learn to meet the needs of our diverse learners.  Many parents have found the same to be true of their children.  Even having just two children you will see how different they learn or respond to you.

If there is anything I can do for you please call. I can be reached at 419-399-4656.

I look forward, everyday, to coming to Paulding Elementary!

Homework Tips

How to help your child during homework time.

  • Provide a space that has plenty of light and space to spread out work.
  • Make sure they do homework during a quiet time at home. ( Or with music if they prefer.)
  • When they ask you questions about whether their answers are correct.- Ask them questions back guiding them to find the whether it is a correct answer. **  Remember is their homework so assist to learn how they are doing and review to assist their learning if they are having difficulty with the homework make sure to let the teacher know.
  • If they do not know what to do on an worksheet or page in a book, have them read the directions aloud and then ask them to restate what they are to do.  Guide them if needed to assist with completing the work correctly.
  • Take breaks if the work is difficult or not a favorite subject.  15 minutes of work - 10 minute break - 15 minutes of work, etc.
  • Set a consistent time of the evening daily to do homework.  If your schedule varies, set a consistent time per day instead of a daily consistent time.
  • Remember:  Homework is about reinforcing what is learned at school and practice.  It is also a valuable way to teach responsibility.
